‘The Voice’ Appoints Taylor Swift As Mentor

taylor swiftTaylor Swift not will not only release a new record, 1989, she has also been appointed as the newest mentor for the upcoming seventh season of ‘The Voice’.

The 24-year-old pop star previously performed on the singing competition’s fourth season, but this is the first time she will be working with the singers.

A source told Us Weekly that Taylor had great feedback from the contestants and will be an amazing mentor. Her latest single, “Shake It Off”, taken from her album, 1989, climbed No.1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 list in the US, and the song’s music video already racked in over 75 million views on YouTube.

By being mentor at The Voice, Taylor will join in with this season’s coaches that include, Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, Pharrell Williams and Gwen Stefani. The show which is known for hiring talents singers to work alongside the judges, the lineup of this year’s show is no different with its lineup.

The Voice, which premieres on September 22, announced that, Gwen Stefani will work with her husband Gavin Rossdale, Blake Shelton with Little Big Town, Stevie Wonder with Adam Levine with Stevie Wonder and Pharrell Williams will pair up Alicia Keys.

Meanwhile, Taylor recently revealed to Rolling Stone magazine that she hasn’t been on a date for the last eighteen months. That doesn’t mean that she has given up on live, it’s that she’s isn’t dating, at least, for now.

Taylor said that after a series of failed relationships, that includes Taylor Lautner, Joe Jonas, Jake Gyllenhaal, Conor Kennedy and Harry Styles, most of whom influenced her songs, she’s taken a hiatus from romance. The last time Taylor was romantically involved was with Harry Styles of One Direction. The two ended their relationship over one and half years ago.

Taylor also said that when people know that she hasn’t gone on a date, people feel sorry for her and that’s true. She also thinks that her love affairs have become more of a national pastime, which is very uncomfortable for her.

Taylor said that she doesn’t like comedians making jokes about her during awards shows saying that if someone breaks up with her, she’ll write a song about him as this trivializes her work. She admits that the pressure is so high on being on a new relationship that she even gets out before she’s got a chance to begin, so she doesn’t date.

Taylor says she really likes her life now, with her friends around all the time. She also said that she loves the album she made and she’s working out a lot, started painting, and taking pride in being string. She said now that she’s moved to New York, she more happy than she ever been.

Taylor’s new album, 1989, is expected to be on stores on October 27.
