According to Forbes.com, “Iron Man” Robert Downey Jr. is now the highest paid actor in Hollywood with estimated earnings of $75 million between June 2012 and June 2013.
Robert, 48, starred in the superhero movies, The Avengers (2012) and Iron Man (2013), each of the films took in more than $1 billion at the box office, securing him the top spot in the annual rankings of top earning actors in Hollywood.
Dorothy Pomerantz, a contributor at Forbes.com said that every studio in Hollywood would love to cast him in their films and they would pay huge sums for the privilege.
Last year, Mission Impossible actor, Tom Cruise, 51, topped the Forbes.com list with estimated earnings of $75 million. However, this year, Tom came down to 8th place with earnings of $33 million.
Meanwhile, new dad Channing Tatum, 33, self-financed male stripper inspired movie, Magic Mike, that made $167 million, took No. 2 spot in the list with earnings of $60 million, while Aussie actor Hugh Jackman, 44, who latest file, The Wolverine, which will open across US theaters next week, trailed behind with $55 million earnings.
Mark Wahlberg, 42, boosted his earning to $52 million which put in fourth place, with huge comedy hit, Ted, that earned $550 million and wrestler and actor Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, 41, rounded the top five spots with earnings of $46 million. Dwayne starred in, The Fast and Furious 6, which brought in $500 million at the box office in less than 2 weeks, and G.I. Joe: Retaliation.
