This follows after Fox official Kevin Reilly opened up about the future of the once most highly rated singing talent TV show, bringing in questions about the fates of the new judges Mariah Carey, Keith Urban and Nicki Minaj. Besides, Fox executives also said that the next season will be revamped entirely and the judging panel will have new judges.
Earlier, Randy Jackson has announced he won’t return back to Idol after this season, which concluded on Thursday, May 16.
According to an insider in the show, the Us Weekly reported that Nicki is leaving the show because she wants to focus on her upcoming album, tour and endorsements. The source said that it’s very much safe to say the she won’t be returning for season 13. The source also said that the 30-year-old R&B singer is ok with it as she was going to do one season only.
Meanwhile, Mariah hasn’t yet commented about her future in the Idol, though it’s claimed that she’s prepping up for a new world tour. Keith has also been mum about his plans as well. However, the show’s host Ryan Seacrest has signed up for season 13.
