Ooh, that’s gonna hurt!
The 43-year-old singer, who did only one season of the Fox show, told she honestly hated the show. She also said at first she thought there will be only three judges, and she could easily do the show as Randy Jackson will be on the panel, but it didn’t turn around like that.
Mariah didn’t stop there. She said it felt like hell going to work every day at the show, compared fellow judge Nicki Minaj to “Satan” as well.
The “Art of Letting Go” singer and Nicki were engaged into several heated debates during the audition sessions as well as the live shows. In May this year, the 30-year-old rapper also dissed Mariah on Twitter, calling her “bitter” and “insecure”.
However, not all was bad on American Idol and working with Nicki. Mariah admitted to radio host Angie Martinez that she loved the contestants, and some were very good singers and really good people too. She also said she felt disappointed that the judges won’t let people through because of “political” reasons.
Mariah also vowed that she won’t ever judge a televised talent competition show again as she prefers to be in the studio and perform on her own tours.
Neither Mariah nor Nicki are expected to return for the Idol’s Season 15 slated for January 2014. Instead former American Idol judge Jennifer Lopez will join Keith Urban and Harry Connick, Jr., while Randy Jackson will take on a role of a mentor.
