Katy Perry has recently announced details of her new upcoming solo album, Prism.
The 28-year-old singer, who spawned big hits like “I Kissed A Girl” and “California Gurls”, has announced her fourth album using a giant golden truck. The album’s title and its release date, 22 October, have been posted on the side of the lorry, which was spotted in the streets of Los Angeles.
News of the Katy’s Prism lorry was first reported by fans, who shared their photos on social media sites like Facebook and Instagram. In a tweet, Katy said that Los Angeles will be the first stop on the map and she kept her promise. Katy also confirmed that Prism won’t be a single; it will be her fourth LP.
Prism will be Katy’s first record in three years and has a lot to live up to. Her debut album, One of the Boys, in 2008 received Platinum certification both in the US and UK. Katy’s 2010 album, Teenage Dream, did even better, selling over 6 million copies internationally. All except one of her last 8 singles reached the UK Top 10 charts, but all but two reached #2 in the US charts.
Katy is expected to debut her new music at the MTV Video Music Awards at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on August 25.
