Former child star Amanda Bynes was arrested by New York police at her apartment in New York on Thursday night, (May 23). She was charged for reckless endangerment and was sent to a hospital for psychiatric evaluation, according to a report.
The 27-year-old former “The Amanda Show” star, who was convicted for DUI and other automobile-related cases in courts in Los Angeles, has caused huge media attention for a series of provocative postings on Twitter and unusual behavior on a daily basis.
News 4 New York reported that police officers arrested Amanda after responding to a report of a disorderly person at her Manhattan apartment after she discarded a bong from apartment’s window.
She was later taken to Roosevelt Hospital for a psychiatric evaluation and then processed at the police station, according to News 4 New York.
In Sept. 2012 Amanda told People magazine that she’s “doing amazing” and decided to move in to New York City to launch her own fashion line.
